Healthy Snack: Spicy Edamame

Wondering what Edamame is or what to do with it? Edamame are soybeans, often used in Japanese cuisine. They are an excellent source of fiber and protein, which helps keep you satisfied longer. Great to snack on, they are also completely versatile in recipes. Add them to soups, salads, pastas, or mix with your favorite side dish.

Spicy Edamame



1 16oz package frozen shelled edamame (soybeans), thawed

½ tsp cumin powder

pinch cayenne pepper

Juice from ½ lime

Salt and freshly ground pepper to taste



Let frozen edamame thaw for 4 hours or in refrigerator overnight. Combine with additional ingredients. Can be made ahead of time and kept in refrigerator. Serve as a side dish, or on top of salad or rice.

Yield 2 servings (if served as a side dish)
