Not only is a juicy steak delicious but its health benefits are abundant. Steak is an excellent source of zinc, needed for wound healing; iron, essential for red blood cell production; and vitamin B12, necessary for nerve health. Always check the label and choose “Grass-fed” beef rather than grain or corn fed.
Citrus Marinated Grilled Steak
¼ cup of fresh lime juice
¼ cup of fresh lemon juice
¼ cup of fresh orange juice
½ cup fresh cilantro chopped, plus extra for garnish
1 ½ Tbs Extra Virgin Olive oil
4 cloves fresh garlic, chopped
4 (4 to 6 oz) lean sirloin steaks or filet mignon
Salt and pepper to season
Directions:
Combine juices, cilantro, olive oil and garlic in a large re-sealable bag. Season steak with salt and pepper. Add steak to bag and marinate in fridge for 30 minutes to 8 hours. Preheat grill or large sautee pan on high. Grill steaks for about 5 to 6 minutes per side until the steak reaches an internal temperature of 145-150 degrees F. Garnish with extra chopped cilantro.
