Spicy Pecans

Nuts are becoming increasingly popular as a delicious crunchy alternative to chips. But did you know they are extremely nutritious, as well? They are rich in iron which helps combat anemia and high in vitamins and anti-oxidants which have an anti-aging effect. Try this kicked up recipe and add them to oatmeal, salads, or eat them as an energy inducing snack!


Spicy Pecans



2 cups whole pecans, raw

1 egg white

1 tsp chili powder

2 tsp ground cinnamon

Pinch of cayenne pepper



Preheat oven to 300 degrees F.

In a large bowl whisk egg white. Add the pecans into the egg mixture and toss evenly to coat. Add all spices and stir. With a slotted spoon, transfer the pecans to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for about 25 minutes until pecans are browned a fragrant. Cool for 20 minutes before serving.
